Dena Bowls - Large Unicorn Melt Serving Bowl
Handmade, One of a Kind, Large 12” Serving Bowl (part of the Dena Bowls fundraiser series)
As Pasadena residents and LA natives, Eric and I are heartbroken at the absolute devastation that ravaged our community. The Eaton Fire tore through our town, taking out nearly 10,000 businesses and family homes in a matter of hours. We knew we had to do something to help support those who lost it all.
Once our evacuation order was lifted, we got to work in our pottery studio. Eric made dozens of bowls, and I jumped on designing Altadena Strong logos and merchandise to raise money for those affected.
Using ash that fell from the Eaton Fire mixed with locally sourced stoneware clay, we made an exclusive set of beautiful hand-thrown bowls.
100% of net proceeds go directly back into the community, supporting the local businesses and schools through their verified GoFundMe and fundraising efforts. Click here to a look at our list of who we’re directly supporting.
In the words of famous author and Pasadena native Octavia Butler, “In order to rise. From its own ashes. A phoenix. First. Must. Burn”.
Each item was meticulously glazed and fired twice in our kiln to over 2100º, ensuring they are food, dishwasher, and microwave safe.
